We treat sensitive data used for this petition responsibly. We want to explain in an open and understandable manner what data we collect and how we treat it securely, so that you comply with our obligation to provide information regarding the collection of personal data on Save Giglio, pursuant to Article 13 of the Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO).


Server in USA and encrypted transmission

The data is saved on the server in the USA. The data transfer on our servers is continuously encrypted with SSL.

How do we use the data?

• We use the address to determine the municipalities, provinces, and regions to which the petitioners belong.
• We use the address to recommend petitions from the administrative level s assigned to you.
• We present signatures publicly with name, location and country.
• We show the distribution of signatures on geographic maps identifying municipalities by zip code.
• We send updates on the work of Save Giglio (if you have accepted it).
• We allow the promoter to generate and download lists with all signatures and collection forms.


Who can see data and for how long?

• Promoter: as a promoter, your full name, address and a valid email address must be provided.
• Supporter: As a supporter of a petition through a signature, your full name and address must be provided. A valid email address is required to stay informed about the petition.
• Signature lists and collection forms may not be forwarded by the proponent to anyone other than the petition recipient.
• After delivery of the petition, the initiator is required to destroy all signature data provided to him or her in digital or printed form.
• After a decision has been made on a petition, the recipient of the petition is required to destroy all signature data made available to him or her in digital or printed form.


No spying on foreign e-mail addresses

With Save Giglio, it is not possible to determine, by entering an external email address, whether the owner of this email address has an account on Save Giglio or has signed a petition.


Double opt-in email

Save Giglio only sends newsletters and other emails to people who have actively agreed to receive them. We check each stored e-mail address through a so-called double opt-in procedure. We send a confirmation e-mail. Only after activating the confirmation link contained therein will we use the e-mail address for further communication. In this way we effectively ensure that we do not send unwanted e-mails to people.


Cookies

Cookies are small files that are stored on a visitor's hard drive. They allow information to be stored for a certain period of time and identify the visitor's computer. We use persistent cookies for better user navigation. We also use session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Local archive

Save Giglio uses the browser's local memory for local caching of form entries. Form entries are protected from accidental deletion in local memory until the form is submitted or disconnected.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data

If we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data, Article 6 paragraph 1 lit. a of the EU Data Protection Regulation ,(DSGVO) serves as the legal basis for the processing of personal data. In the processing of personal data necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary to execute pre-contractual measures. Insofar as the processing of personal data is required to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO applies as the legal basis. If the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller, Art. 6(1)(e) DSGVO is the legal basis. Storage Period
